EMI, APM MUSIC AND ONE LLAMA PARTNER TO ENHANCE MUSIC SEARCH AND RETRIEVAL TECHNOLOGIES
CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS (July 16, 2008) — One Llama Media Inc., a leader in advanced music search, has entered into an agreement with APM Music, the world's leading production music library, a joint venture of EMI Music Publishing and Universal Music Publishing, to work with APM to develop and provide a new software solution for improving advanced music searches and automated music classifications. The software utilizes One Llama's proprietary acoustic analysis, cultural analysis and trainable machine learning algorithms. APM and EMI will offer the software to their customers to provide them with advanced methods of navigating and searching for music in the APM library of over 250,000 musical recordings.
The combination of track classification and advanced music search solutions will dramatically improve EMI's and APM's ability to deliver the right music to each of its customers worldwide, while improving workflow and making the search experience faster and more accurate.
"Finding the right music for a project is a time consuming and inexact science for customers today," said Adam Taylor, President of APM Music. "One Llama's classification technology will enable us to more accurately and dynamically classify our collection, bringing the search and browse experiences for our clients to an entirely new level. Additionally, One Llama's search technology will enable our customers to search for music based on audio similarity giving production clients an entirely new way to quickly find the music they need."

One Llama's technologies enable innovative search methods based on proprietary feature extraction techniques that take into consideration a wide variety of physical acoustic and psycho-acoustic factors to determine musical similarity. The system combines its custom validation and training system with the knowledge and experience of APM's and EMI's subject matter experts to continually improve the accuracy of results. The results are then embedded into EMI's and APM's audio files in a variety of digital music formats including MP3 and BWAV.
"We are excited to be working with APM Music and EMI Music on one of the greatest collections of music in the world," said Rob Schultz, One Llama's CEO.
